I wil report back when I drive it to Colorado this weekend to see what mileage I get and how it runs. After all this I'm getting the tuner and deletes for $2000 from reckless diesel performance in Dallas. (Speculating that but wouldn't be surprised). I think they cleared it out and then tried to getbitvto come back on while I waited for over an hour. Drove 27 mpg to see if it would go over the max they told me it would. I drove it down the road and no problem at all. The check engine light and the limp mode was mysteriously gone! I was so mad. Strange part to me was when I got in my truck to load it up. They said the filter wasn't on back order and they already had that. I was being expected to just go without my truck till they could get the filter. Still saying it would be 3 weeks to get the parts. I had been asking if they could just reset it till the parts came in and they said it wasn't possible. Anyway something struck me strange when I picked up the truck. They didn't know I'd already made up my mind. They kept saying they were working on warranty good faith approval to go ahead and cover the parts and labor. It took them 1hr 15 minutes to give me my ticket and keys do I could get it out of there. I could tell they didn't want me to take the truck. I had them do my 7 recalls while they had it. Well I picked my truck up from Dallas Dodge today. If you don't mind sharing the cost of what you paid to do yours. I will call your guy and ask him some questions though. RaceMe is the old company H&S that closed for whatever reason they did. I did ask Reckless diesel performance about the RaceMe tuner and he said they don't offer any support in case you have any problems with it. I felt the RaceME fit my wants/needs better than EFI Live. A lot of folks are going to recommend EFI live just due to lack of knowledge regarding RaceME. So far, no issues.Ĭheck out Ray with Double R Diesel for some good info and things he's doing with the RaceME platform. I run mine on +120hp and drive it like a normal person should. You can even run a stock power+delete tune if you don't want to worry about the transmission and heads. That way when I go to trade the truck in all I have to worry about is hooking the DEF/DPF filter to enable the dealer, legal wise, to take my truck on trade. As well as the ability to leave the EGR in place, but electronically shut it off. What I like about the RaceME is the shift on the fly custom tuning and transmission tune. I went with a RaceME tuner, Flopro turboback exhaust. The sooner you delete a truck, the better off it is. This thread is precisely why my emissions equipment fell off my truck. I'm heading back this morning to see what kind of screws they're gonna try and put to me. Oh wel, I dropped it at Dallas dodge last night while it was still running. I guess dodge hired the people that ford fired. They made a killing off that nightmare then screwed people with the 6.4s for 3 yrs. I'm disappointed in the way these manufacturers have become so greedy. I'm surprised there's not another class action being brought up here. I called Randall Noe in Terrell about it and he said it would be about $800 to do that service. Yep sounds like planned obsolescence by dodge.

Haven't looked back and couldn't be happier. I deleted it with efi live for like $1900. He said at 80,000 miles my truck would go into lag mode and basically be useless. Dealer wanted $2500 to service mine and said it wasn't a warranty item. That is an indicator to service the DPF/EGR system. Just sayingĪt 70,000 you should have gotten the "perform service" message on your EVIC screen. The guy at the dealership made a comment about cheap def fluid. I was running 80+ for the most part also.Īnyone else had this happen to their truck in a 2014? FYI I have been using the def fluid from Buccees. About an hour later I was around 17.3 mpg. I was averaging around 14 mpg and when the check engine lights and stuff came on. Sure ruined my work weekend and also made for a crappy day of useless driving.
#2016 ram 2500 diesel service def system code#
They checked the engine code and it read back that the def "pipe" had to be replaced (in so many words) he Said it should be under warranty. They were good guys there and didn't mind trying to help. So I stopped in Clyde Tx and talked to a few mechanics at their dodge dealership that were already off work. Then it showed a message saying I had 150 miles till it would drop to 5 mph. It didn't give me a message saying anything about it shutting down so I carried on. I got a check engine light about an hour and a half into the trip and a message on my screen about the DEF system. Well I made it about 2 1/2 hrs into my 3 1/2 hr drive to my lease and my 2014 truck changed its mind.
